Community Clean-Up May 17

May 17, 2015 @ 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Anyone who walks along Pulaski under the Kennedy, and along the sidewalk between Pulaski and Byron on the east side of the expressway, knows that trash, bird droppings, and other debris often accumulate in the area.

The Girls Scouts of Troop 21326 plan to clean from Independence Park, through the pathway and under the viaduct, and they’re working local artist Tony Passero to clean the mural there. They also plan to plant flowers or shrubbery.

My office is providing brooms, shovels, rakes, garbage bags, and other supplies. Volunteer meeting location will be at the south west corner of Independence Park, near the baseball field.

The clean-up will be Sunday, May 17, from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.To volunteer, or to ask for more information, contact troop leaders Linda Graziano at 312-203-1303 or Cynthia Rivera at 773-517-5506. Please come out and help the Girl Scouts beautify our community.
